Tribal Activism in Public Policy
At Clear Health Pass Woundcare, we are committed to leading efforts that ensure equitable access to life-saving medical treatments, especially for underserved tribal nations. As the tribal agent for the Blue Lake Rancheria Economic Development Corporation (BLREDC), a federally recognized tribal corporation, we actively advocate for enhanced healthcare accessibility, particularly through CMS’s tribal consultation process. Our work aligns with key executive orders that prioritize consultation and healthcare equity, including:
Executive Order 13175: Ensuring consultation and coordination with Indian tribal governments on healthcare policies.
Executive Order 13985: Addressing racial disparities and supporting underserved communities in accessing equitable healthcare.
Executive Order 14070: Promoting innovation in biotechnology to enhance healthcare for all communities, with a specific focus on tribal input.
Through these frameworks, Clear Health Pass Woundcare has formed a Tribal Health Board in partnership with multiple tribes, ensuring tribal leadership has a direct voice in influencing healthcare policies. This consortium advocates for expanded access to skin grafts and advanced treatments within tribal healthcare systems, supported by collaborations with leading universities, tissue banks, and manufacturers.
We are currently engaged in ongoing consultations with CMS, requesting tribal carve-outs and advocating for extended scope of treatment under CMS guidelines for facilities operating under the IHS 638 Schedule. Our goal is to ensure these critical treatments are accessible and reimbursed through Medicare, Medicaid, and tribal-specific healthcare programs. By maintaining open dialogue with CMS and other federal agencies, we aim to ensure that the policies reflect the unique needs of tribal communities and provide access to cutting-edge biotechnology, such as amniotic tissue grafts, to improve health outcomes across the nation.
